The importance of continual training
Many of the team at Powerhouse Resources have been hands on working their way up from nuclear navy days as mechanics and electricians, working as operators at nuclear plants and then ultimately as suppliers to utilities to support them during the vital management of assets, in often dangerous and intense conditions.
Through this time we have all witnessed changes to the industry such as the increased need to do more for less, with reduced schedule, budgets and resources, increased legislation and Health and Safety requirements. Each of which is critically important to the industry as it embarks on increasing pressures to provide reliable, secure and affordable energy, not to mention the net zero targets for 2050.
One thing we have consistently found – is that it doesn’t matter how established or experienced you are in the industry or how well versed on procedures you are, things are always changing, circumstances always vary, and we must all be prepared for that and armed with the most up to date, and reliable knowledge to complement our experience.
This is the reason we run rigorous continual training for everyone that we send to site and also training programs for our clients to support them to be fully versed, effective and safe. The training philosophy is driven by maximizing human performance and measured by the effectiveness of results on site. With the training delivered by the leaders within Powerhouse Resources, who have all worked on the tough end of plant operations, we ensure that everyone that comes out of the classroom has the most recent and current industrial standards and best practices to apply in the working environment, which are transferrable across the portfolio of plants.
Our training focuses on the latest specialist skills for individuals’ mastery, health and safety best practice, leadership and operational effectiveness to arm everyone whether representing Powerhouse or the client is fully prepared to optimize productivity safely and within regulations.
